This research aims to develop listening comprehension self-access materials for learners of Spanish as a Foreign Language at Pontifical Javeriana University. These materials were developed following the framework for materials writing proposed by Jolly D. and Bolitho R. in Tomlinson (2011). In order to fulfill the main objective, we carried out several inquiries to students and teachers of Centro Latinoamericano at Javeriana University with the main aim of identifying their needs regarding the listening comprehension in Spanish, materials for autonomous learning and of materials reflecting the Colombian context. In order to tackle these problems, a series of four podcasts and four sets of activities comprising pre-listening, while-listening and post-listening exercises were developed. The texts were recorded by Colombia n Spanish speakers and are available for students on both the iTunes platform and the blog: AudioELE: El podcast de espanol colombiano para extranjeros. Throughout this study we expect to have solved, in a proper way, these problems and also to have made a substantial contribution to the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
