The fountain flow effect affects the macromolecular orientation and therefore, the mechanical and optical properties of injection and compression molded parts [1]. The impact of the fountain flow effect is even higher in fiber reinforced materials, because the distribution and orientation of fibers is affected. The fountain flow effect is modeled using a meshless technique, the radial function method (RFM). Two cases are considered: a slit flow of a power law fluid and a vertical tube flow of a Newtonian fluid considering gravitational effects. A good agreement between the numerical prediction and results reported in literature was found.
