The following article provides an overview of the nutritional status of children in Colombia, and the implications it has on the economic, social, cultural and political development; addresses two strategies that allow from the Primary Health Care more understanding of malnutrition and household food insecurity in Colombia: the health Education and health Outcomes Research, recently discussed and developed strategies in political and health of Colombia, which has also led to a misapplication of primary care, focusing their best efforts on hospital care and leaving aside the levels of prevention, health promotion and participation as stated in Alma Atta in 1978.
