This research seeks to find historical anchors that have questioned and constituted the young in Medellin through the circulation of discourses and adult-control practices that have gravitated around the discourse of violence in the city. Specifically, research is conducted from three practices: hip-hop, graffiti and people who were in some way involved with practices ofviolence. For this work there is a file research, interviews and ethnography. In the archive 1analyze different events that marked the specificity and delineation of the in Medellin. In the interviews, 1 gather several visions from the three practices, in order to enlighten the discursive threads that lie between them and the possible separations that are marked between ways ofbeing young in the city, and the construction of places and practices that emerge in the interaction between the young and the control institutions (family, school, state, free time, etc ..). Thus, the research conc1udes that these three practices are tied to a historical project of control of the young in the city that has curtailed the creation given that the young has been proscribed against the structural problems of the city , such as violence. Also 1 propose some scenarios that can help to split the practices of the young and the violence.
