We present a Logistic regression model, useful to clarify causality relations among the average high school graduates grades, high school origin, age at the beginning of the university studies, gender and the high school shift on the university academic results of a student. A sample of 287 students of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (FACES) of the University of Los Andes (ULA) is studied with admission between the years 2003 to 2007. The variables are described and tested statistically that: (1) There are differences in the student performance among careers of the FACES, (2): The university performance can be explained by his yield in high school studies, (3) The remaining variables do not have effect on the university performance and (4) There are no differences between the average high school grades of students from public and private sectors.
