The objective of this survey was establishing the existence of prototypical depressive irrational concepts into a group of 34 male adult participants diagnosed against another one without this disorder. It was supposed that the participants with depression will be identified with the prototypical irrational concepts different from those without the disorder. A retrospective ex post facto survey of cases and controls was carried out. There were applied the instruments (DSM-IV-tr®, Test de Hamilton (Ramos- Brieva, 1986) y Escala de depresion de Beck- adapted and revised version (Sanz, Vasquez, 1998) and the self report of irrational depressive concepts created for this survey. The results confirmed the hypothesis: The ji-square obtained was X2=6, 19015, higher than that expected X2= 4,107, with a p≤0.99 and gl=13. Those concepts are: Undeserving, inefficacy, unenoughness, conditional self acceptation, sadness as flair, distrust about oneself, another people and about the world and a full powerful self bias.
