The, “Professional counseling practice” article; is the product of years of experience in the treatment of substance abuse, in the State of Georgia – USA-. The purpose of the this article is to present a reference chart illustrating what is like to be a counselor in substance abuse in the United States, as well as to present this issue as, one more of the intervention fields in social work. The social security system in the United States is different from ours and that is why it is important to know how it works.
