We perform the characterization of the herpetofauna present in the highlands of the Southeastern parts of the Sabana de Bogota, in six areas within the forestry reserve of Usme.Seven species of frogs and three species of reptiles were recorded. The family Craugastoridae was the richest, with three species, and the most abundant with 167 individuals. Anadia bogotensis had the highest number of individuals among the lizards. The locality known as Area Forestal Distrital Paramo Los Salitres showed the highest number of species, whereas the locality known as Area Forestal Distrital Subparamo La Regadera showed the highest number of individuals. Were sampled in the following habitats: pajonales– frailejonales– rosetales (P-F-R), scrubs (M), chuscales (Ch), stunted forests (Bach), forest plantations (Cf) and farming areas (C); and in the P-F-R reported all species, where as in Cf and C only three species were found in each. Almost all of the herpetofauna recorded in this study is endemic to Colombia, making this area important for conservation due to the uniqueness of its species composition.
