This paper proposed a supervisor module to detect changes in process dynamic. The supervisor module uses regression equation and fuzzy logic to calculate changes in the characteristic process parameters: process gain, time constant and dead time. Once these parameters are calculated, they are sent to the PDMCr to update the process model. The Fuzzy Supervisor Module, determines changes in the process parameters, estimates the magnitude of the detected changes, and sends this information to the PDMCr adjusting the embedded model to the new operation conditions. A linear example is used to show how the approach works.
