The main objective of this dissertation is to design and implement a proposal to improve the production system of the company MCD, using the model of aggregate production planning in order to optimize the plant capacity and minimize costs of overproduction, overtime and non-fulfilment of orders. The research was focused on a quantitative approach, using the transversal descriptive type. The methodology used was based on the realization of a diagnosis of the current production system of the company under study, based on a checklist adapted from different authors, diagnostic tools from the engineering of methods, in addition to the affinity matrix and vester’s, among others. The diagnosis allowed to identify opportunities for improvement, which were designed and presented based on the support tool of the industrial engineering, which are evidenced throughout this dissertation.
