Sus robos y asaltos fueron en la decada del 30 del siglo XX. Es un periodo que se caracterizo por marcados movimientos campesinos, sindicales, huelgas agrarias, paros obreros, reivindicaciones salariales y luchas por la tierra. En este periodo surgen organizaciones carentes de ideologia politica y organizacion como fue la actividad bandolera, en particular la que encabezo el «Palomo» Aguirre. En si es rescatar un personaje que, pese a que existe en la mentalidad popular y en la tradicion oral, ha pasado desapercibido por los estudiosos del bandolerismo en Colombia. EnglishWhit the aid of oral and written sources, this article deals with the life of Reinaldo Aguirre Palomo. He is the most remembered bandid of the North of the Tolima region, Colombia. His robberies and assaults were during the decade of the 30�s of the 20th century. It is period characterized by farmers and workers organizations, agrarian and union strikes, wage vindications and fights for the land. In this period arise organizations without political ideology called highwaymen. The most important band was that of «Palomo» Aguirre, which means to rescue a personage who, although he exists in the popular mentality and in the oral tradition, is unnoticed by social investigators of banditry in Colombia.
