Analiza en segundo termino la evolucion del gasto publico social y su impacto redistributivo. Finalmente, a la luz de estas consideraciones examina cual ha sido la contribucion de la fiscalidad versus otros factores a la reciente mejora distributiva que han experimentado varios paises latinoamericanos en la ultima decada. EnglishThis essay analyzes the redistributive effects of fiscal policies in Latin America. In the first place, it analyses the combined redistributive effect of taxes and transfers in Latin America compared to OECD countries, with specific remarks on the evolution of taxes magnitude and structure. Secondly,it focuses on social public expenditure trends and its redistributive impact. Finally, building on these findings, the document analyses the contribution of taxes compared with other factors to the recent distribution improvement experimented by several Latin-American countries during the last decade.
