The foreign exchange market in Colombia has been involved in recent years by the Banco de la Republica, in order to curb revalucion currency and stabilize looking to benefit exporters. The work of the bank is to buy dollars in the market daily to meet one of its functions, the accumulation of international reserves. And thus decreasing the amount of dollars in circulation to control the price of the currency. How strong has been the impact on the market and whether it has achieved the goal set by the central bank, is the research that has been done in this work using econometric tools to quantify the true impact of the strategy Colombian central bank.
