To identify the correspondence between occupational competencies and competencies in public health competencies of physiotherapists and public administrators that make up the public health teams in the department of Caldas, 2016-2017. Methodology: Descriptive, transversal study of its qualitative and quantitative information in its development. The population was made up of all the professionals in Physiotherapy and Public Administration that make up the public health teams in Caldas. The population was obtained from the database of the Territorial Health Directorate of Caldas. The information was collected through the use of techniques such as the open interview and the survey to be analyzed according to their nature. Results: Professionals with the least time in loading the benefits of health, permanently evaluate their processes and compliance with health promotion actions to achieve changes at the community level, and Utilize the conceptual, technical foundations and basic methodologies to contribute to the guarantee of equity and the fundamental right to health. In contrast to the Physiotherapists and Public Administrators with more time in the load than only sometimes or never. Conclusions: it is necessary to continue strengthening the public health teams, with a greater number and variety of professionals that can respond to the health needs of a changing community in terms of characteristics, needs and potential.
