The Regeneration refers mainly to a historical period of Colombia, which characterized for the strengthening of the State and the creation of national values that unifies the political community where the Colombian elites govern. Nevertheless the above mentioned process coincides with others in the continent. For example, the Venezuela s dictator Antonio Guzman Blanco proclaimed himself peacemaker and regenerator of Venezuela, which is similar with Colombia. From this, these common elements shared by these two countries, this paper tries to point out the different ways to consolidate as a nation-state, some of them adopted respectively by Colombia and Venezuela at the end of the XIXth century (the liberal-centrist form of Guzman Blanco and conservative centralization Nunez and Caro). It is also important to point out that not only these two countries had this processes, but on the contrary, they shared common elements that explains the implementation of government biopolitic strategies, whose aim was to strengthen the state's authority.
