An inquiry about the consequences of the supposed dissappearence of the notion «state-nation» by the called postmodern speach and globalization process, at the end of the XX century. The Latin American leftish intelectuals, particulary the venezuelan ones, assume it is a speech against the national history and call for reafirming the teaching of history as keeper of the collective memory. In that way the venezuelan society could have theorical and practical answers to the political and economic crisis.
