For the present paper elaborated at the Rosario University in the second semester of 2009. Is based on the strategic thought, complexity and uncertainty; explaining the importance of strategy in the supply chain (SC). Therefore, we are going to talk about the value chain and the open-closed systems, for later deepening in the explanation of the importance of strategy in the supply chain. In order to demonstrate, we are going to model the supply chain with a usefully tool called SCOR. This will help us understand better the complexity of the supply chain and the opportunities to improve production and market share. Thus, we are going to talk about topics of plan (planning) because it is the essence of the model and a important part in the elaboration of the strategy. At last, we are going to conclude talking about the importance of obtaining strategies in the SC, the importance of the environment and how affects or influence the organization, understand the constant change of the markets and the need of the organization to accomplish the open system.
