The degree work proposes that much of John Searle's philosophical work can be understood from the framework of the constitution of reasons to act in a material world. With this in mind, a reconstruction of different central concepts of this author's philosophy is made in such a way that a coherent account is evidenced between elements that are not always explicitly related by Searle in his work.
