A colonial legacy still exists in Africa, a legacy that is evident in the Politics and International Relations of its countries. The relation between the Nigerian state and the western oil companies shows this inheritance. In the same way, this relationship shows how the Western Ideology of Development represents an obstacle to achieve a real development in Nigeria, and more specifically, in the Niger Delta.
