The Roma population represents the most numerous ethnic minority in western Europe, and at the same time it constitutes one of the most vulnerable populations which faces serious problems of discrimination and exclusion in almost all of the European societies. The lack of effectiveness in the application of the insertion policies as well as the measures adopted by national governments to control immigration, have serious implications over this group. In fact, the political agendas have considered immigration as a security issue, not only at a national level but also at a communitarian level. From Eastern Europe, Rumania represents the country with the biggest Roma population and France is one of the western European counties which receives more Romanians. Consequently, the political relation between these two countries is stronger, especially in terms of securitization. It is important to take into consideration that Rumania makes already part of the European Union and it"s going to be officially part of the Schengen space, which implies that the Roma population will increase to approximately 4.4 million. Therefore, the Roma migration will be not international anymore, but it will be internal. This fact supposes a big change in how to manage the Romanian migration at a communitarian level.
