The purpose of this document is to describe how reading learning affects the development of language and speech in boys and girls with Down syndrome (DS) between 3 and 8 years of age, who have begun to acquire the code literate during early childhood. This, through a search and qualitative review process in different bibliographic sources from the year 2000 until 2014; the main objective is the influence of reading learning on the linguistic and communication skills of children with DS.
