The cryptocurrencies have become relevant in Colombia. Their emergence represents a huge defiance for Colombian institutions, as they are not just a groundbreaking financial and commerce mechanism, but it also challenges some traditional concepts as money, monetary sovereignty and central banking. This work discusses the regulatory framework that these have and the one they should be granted in the future.
