This research work is a case study that analyzes the route through which some women have managed to break the glass ceiling in the political arena and have managed to reach the Congress of the Republic of Colombia. The above, using the theoretical model exposed by Pierre Bourdieu (1997 and 2013) and which is built with the concepts of capitals, habitus and fields. To do this, interviews with eight (8) women who were or are congressmen, with the purpose of identifying elements or determining factors in their life trajectory, which are assimilated to the concept of capitals and whose accumulation is became the strategy that allowed them to mobilize and improve their position within the field political and thus, achieve their electoral success in said corporation.
