Escala fotografica para la clasificación clínica de la severidad de la paniculopatía edematofibroesclerosa ( celulitis) en glúteos en un grupo de mujeres colombianas
Introduction: The oedematofibrosclerotic panniculopathy (PEFE) is one of the majors causes of aesthetic consultation. Appearing 85% in women, lacking a measurement method of reproducible and reliable severity. The objective of the study is to evaluate the trustworthiness and the reproducibility of a photographic scale that allows to classify the degrees of severity of the PEFE in buttocks in a group of Colombian women. Materials and Methods: 182 standardized photographies were taken from the buttocks in rest and muscular contraction. The criteria for the qualification of the photographies settled down by consensus of experts. Two sessions with six evaluating blind to clinical data were realized. The following scale was used 0= No, 1= Slight, 2= Moderate, 3= Severe. The photographies were taken for the album in which the six evaluators agreed. Results: The agreement between the evaluators in rest and contraction occurred in 23 (25.27%) of the 182 photographies. The evaluators agreed in 5/91 (5.49%) of the photographies in rest and 18/91 (19.78%) of the photographies in contraction. There was no agreement for degrees 0 and 3 in contraction. The intra-rater agreement in rest as in contraction was 0.443 (p<0.0001). The Inter-rater agreement in rest and contraction was 0.398 (p<0.0001). Discussion: In the construction of the photographic scale, there was no agreement on the classification of all grades of severity, grades in those who had intra and inter-rater agreement, this was acceptable. It is necessary to continue the study until complete data.
