Patrones radiológicos pulmonares y su relación con linfocitos TCD4+ en pacientes con infección por VIH. Fundación Cardioinfantil, 2013 - 2017

Abstract:

Objective: to determine the relationship between pulmonary radiological patterns and serum levels of CD4+ T lymphocytes in adult patients, with HIV infection, in follow-up at the Fundacion Cardioinfantil between 2013-2017. Materials and methods: observational descriptive study of a cohort. Results: 108 patients with HIV infection, mostly men, of middle age were evaluated. More than half had risky sexual behavior and had respiratory symptoms. Chest scans showed some type of finding in 63%, with a predominance of ground-glass. The average value of CD4+ T lymphocytes was 127 cells/mm3 and viral loads of 747,000 copies/ml. At least half of the germs identified were P. jirovecii followed by M. tuberculosis. Conclusion: with the data obtained in the population, there was an increase in the prevalence of HIV infection, predominantly in men with risky sexual behavior. No statistically significant relationship was found between radiological patterns and CD4+ T lymphocytes levels, similar to that reported in other investigations.
