This monograph attempts to answer the following question: what is the role of the Bourbon war discourse, implemented during the so-called Regeneration period, in the birth of the national Police of Colombia? In order to answer this question, it is possible to state that the Regeneration war discourse- based on “politics as the continuation of war by other means” and implemented by Bourbons during New Granada- resulted in the “governmentalization” of the State.
