Investment by bladderwort (Utricularia foliosa) in carnivory was estimated in lakes from the Colombian and Brazilian Amazon with different dissolved mineral nutrients and prey availability. As zooplankton abundance in the lake decreased, an increase in the number of bladders per leaf and in the mean bladder size was observed.
