This text describes and analyzes the experience of implementing an integrated agro-aquaculture (IAA) system in an Arhuaco community in the Colombian Caribbean, focusing on the social appropriation of knowledge. It details the accompaniment of the community and how these new technologies were integrated into traditional practices. The results show an important adhesion to the initiative and demonstrate how the community solves crisis situations derived from historical processes of violence and dispossession, the severe environmental deterioration in the region, and climate change.
