The goal of this article is to critically analyze the environmental value of forest reserves in Colombian legislation, taking as a starting point the possible urbanization of the Thomas van der Hammen forest reserve. At the same time, it seeks to demonstrate the lack of protection that environmental norms in Colombia provide for decisions that may affect these reserves.
