This study aims to identify the impact of covid-19 on hotel management in the state of Santa Catarina. The research is descriptive, conducted through a survey and a quantitative analysis, with a sample of 37 companies in the hotel sector. The results indicate that, among the responding companies, 70.3 % had financial reserves, but used them after the pandemic, 67.6 % had to suspend work contracts for 30 and 60 days and 65.7 % had to resort to loans to meet their commitments.Among the strategies used by hotels to resume sales, 72.43 % of hotels used digital marketing as a means to sell travel packages and disseminate prevention measures, improving communication.Among the variables analyzed, it was found that there is a positive correlation between the drop in revenue and the drop in the number of accommodations when analyzing the companies that did not invest in digital marketing after the start of the pandemic.Another issue is that the drop in the number of guests, the drop in turnover and the need to resort to borrowing are positively related to micro and small businesses.Overall, the research shows that the hotel network was strongly affected by the pandemic, and highlights the importance of information to support the process of business control and management.
