This article is a bibliographical investigation into the reincorporation experiences of the people who signed the peace agreement in Colombia. A bibliographic search was carried out in the following databases: Scielo, Redalyc, Dialnet and Google Scholar, selecting a final sample of 29 articles. Three analytical categories emerged from the results. First, an overview of war and its psychosocial effects is presented. This is followed by a discussion of violence in Colombia and the emergence of armed struggle. Next, reference is made to the process of reincorporation as well as the challenges observed in the ex-combatants, journey towards legality. For ex-combatants, the path to legality symbolizes the materialization of their dreams, alternatives to the armed struggle, but they are sensitive to the challenges they will have to face on their return to civilian life.
