This article is the product of a research project developed in two indigenous territories of the municipality of Riosucio, Caldas, between 2020 and 2022. The objective of this article was to highlight the political participation of young women by identifying the conflicts in the indigenous context, the actions of resistance, mediation and women's struggles. A qualitative analysis was used focusing on the experiences of indigenous women, through participant observation, field diary and four semi-structured interviews with women leaders. As a result, it was found that women in both territories have struggled and overcome limitations and difficulties to become leaders in their communities, highlighting their empowerment and resistance to achieve political participation in organizational and associative spaces, which has contributed to social, political, economic and cultural transformation.
