The analog front-end receiver provides a data rate of 56 Gb/s while using only 9.2 mW power. It adjusts for 27.1 dB loss to maintain a bit error rate under 1 <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0–9</sup> , and its FoM of 0.006 pJ/bit/dB greatly improves energy efficiency.
