This article is the result of a Participatory Action Research that was carried out with students from grades six to eleven who assume the role of section representatives of the INEM Luis López de Mesa educational institution of the municipality of Villavicencio – Meta, taking into account who are the spokespersons chosen by their colleagues and who are assigned responsibilities in the exercise of leadership. As objectives, the researchers proposed: Identify the behaviors of the students that reflect the lack of civic culture in the institution, design a didactic sequence for the training of section representatives that contributes to the constitution of civic culture and propose the implementation of activities pedagogical activities led by section representatives in relation to the constitution of citizen culture. To collect information, three instruments were applied: analysis of documents, observation and implementation of a didactic sequence distributed in six sessions, with the last session being the planning by the participants of a Citizen Culture Day aimed at colleagues, through from which the learning acquired was evaluated and at the same time it became the action plan to address the institution’s problems. The conclusions highlight the analytical capacity of the participants to address the real situations raised, the empowerment of the role of leaders and the solutions proposed to intervene, which were characterized by creativity.
