Abstract Background Posterior cortical atrophy is a neurodegenerative condition characterized by the deterioration of visuospatial skills, associated with the deterioration in the occipital and parietal regions of the brain, and frequently associated with the neuropathology of Alzheimer’s disease. Method The objective of this study is to describe the neuropsychological characteristics in a sample of five RedLat study participants diagnosed with this condition. The subjects were evaluated in cognitive areas of language, attention, memory, executive functions, and visuospatial skills with a series of neuropsychological tests. Result The obtained data is analyzed in a descriptive manner. The results support that alterations with visual and spatial predominance. However executive dysfunction and language alterations are present aswell. Conclusion These findings support the understanding of posterior cortical atrophy as a heterogeneous clinical syndrome.
