A semesterly project for second semester of electronic engineer at Higher Education Institution Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca (Colombia) was developed by students based on Learning by Doing Theory (LbD) in order to improve the quality of education. According to specified methodology, the circuit was selected (by their very own), simulated, prototyped, optimized, installed and implemented in a Micro Small Medium Size Enterprise (MSME). Through this project students not only improved their soft skills such as oral and writing communication, social interaction with MSME managers and their customers, teamwork, among others; but also, allowed to reinforce and consolidate basic electronic engineer concepts (hard skill) e.g., how does work passive and active electronic components, design a PCB, among others. Surveys was made to all participants (students, mangers and customers), these results demonstrated the impact of LbD theory as well the positive interaction between students and society actors by solving real-life problem.
