This document describes the procedure to obtain the mathematical model and PID control for a 2 KW Dual Buck Inverter converter applied in the supply of renewable energy systems. DBI inverter operation modes were described by means of obtaining the equations that model their behavior. Also, the converter switched model obtained was verified by modeling the activation signals of the MOSFETs. The procedure for converter model linearization was described by working in the desired operation, recording the DBI response using Matlab®/Simulink™ simulation. Finally, the PID controller was tuned in the linearized operating point to control the DBI, where performance was evaluated by considering changes in the load and the input DC voltage level. The authors verified the controller's performance static and dynamic parameters through simulation and visualization. As a result, the total harmonic distortion in the output voltage signal was less than 0.73%, complying with the IEEE 519 standard for harmonic content. The plan is to apply this development in energy distribution systems that deliver various voltage levels, such as electricity generation process from non-conventional energy such as solar or wind.
