The purpose of the document is to determine the macroeconomic factors that influence the functional distribution of income in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors of the Colombian economy between the years 2000 and 2020. The approach that has been given to this study is based in the Post-Keynesian theoretical positions of Kalecki (1956), Kregel (1978), Sraffa (1960), and Rochon and Setterfield (2007), however, a theoretical review of income distribution is presented from the different schools of economic thought. Additionally, a sectoral characterization of some effective demand variables is presented and an econometric model is estimated for each economic sector. From the results generated in this document, it is evident that for each of the three sectors, tax collection and private investment improve the functional distribution of income; while the inflation rate, the unemployment rate and the placement interest rate have a negative effect on the functional distribution of income.
