The reasons and motivations of the Huarochirana indigenous population to join the independence cause are described and analyzed, as well as the role played by this since the actions of the curaca Ignacio Quispe Ninavilca during 1820-1823.The antecedents and the beginning of the formation of the guerrilla parties in Huarochirí by the hand of the curaca are taken as a starting point, as well as the relations of this with the political-military commanders of the current province and the central government with whom present agreements and discrepancies that will end up having repercussions on the indigenous population. Thus, it is intended to examine the particularities and dynamics of the huarochirano struggle led almost completely by the curaca, considering that there was no other authority than this to which the huarochiranos obeyed, a union that will continue until after 1824 with the couplings of the curaca to uprisings and alliances with the military leaders in search of a true social claim for the indigenous mass that it represented.
