The Department of Risaralda has 48,370 students under the SNIES registry and where there are processes that require the execution of University activities, such as: enrollment, admissions, equivalencies, certificate procedures, new admission processes, semester planning: workload per teacher, timetable and classroom assignment, student enrollment, graduation planning, among others; with marked weaknesses in their administrative academic procedures that do not allow them to be more competitive organizations in terms of performance, quality and service provision. Therefore, this proposal represents a study that identifies and delves into the marked weaknesses evidenced in the processes for the characterization of managerial means and the optimization of resources used by the personnel in charge of operational processes at the university level. The collection of information is through the observation and interviews of the personnel in charge of the programs of the Universities of the Department of Risaralda with the longest experience, to inquire about the academic processes with links of an administrative nature and how, from management, decisions are made. Finally, the respective interpretation, codification, design and redesign of the concepts are incorporated for the final reflection on the reality in which the various processes are executed.
