Each person has their own characteristics in their learning process, such as their background, experiences, interests, and goals, as well as their specific traits related to age, learning style, and motivation to learn. Characteristics that are recovered and structured in a learner model, to adapt to the needs of the learners. Thus, this paper presents a first approximation of the design of an adaptive learning system that uses a learner model of a non-literate older adult, to offer different types of adaptation in the learning contents; by levels of abilities, activities, resources, scaffolding, routes, as well as in the learning environment; that is deployed through an m-learning application, using mobile devices as cell phones, facilitating the literacy of older adults.
