Currently, the job market increasingly needs professionals who have a different profile, valuing characteristics such as creativity, entrepreneurship and innovative thinking.With this, the use of the PBL (Project Based Learning) methodology allows to complement the learning of academics in a practical way aiming at the development of skills.The project proposed to students of the Electrical Engineering course at the Federal University of Santa Maria -Campus Cachoeira do Sul, aiming at the application of the active methodology, was the development of a luminous electronic platform, controlled through a smartphone application, which would allow the realization of interactive activities with the elderly with the objective of inserting technology in the process of cognitive rehabilitation.The project was carried out in stages, with the development of the mobile application to control activities and the construction of the platform.As the main results of using the methodology, it was noted a more effective learning in the areas of electronics and programming, as well as evidence of improved communication skills, creativity and proactivity, so necessary in the job market.
