Anaphylaxis is an allergic reaction with sudden onset and serious consequences.Anaphylaxis presents with the onset of symptoms involving the skin, respiratory system, cardiovascular, or gastrointestinal system within minutes or hours after exposure to a known triggering agent or a possible trigger.In a recent study, the incidence of anaphylaxis was reported as 1-761/100 000 person-years in children.In addition, 0.26% of hospital admissions are due to anaphylaxis.The most common triggers of anaphylaxis in children are food allergens.Cow's milk, eggs, and nuts are the most common foods that cause anaphylaxis.Anaphylaxis needs to be diagnosed quickly and treatment should be started immediately.The first-line treatment for anaphylaxis is adrenaline and the dose is 0.01 mg/kg (1/1000 th ).In the treatment of anaphylaxis, adrenaline is administered intramuscularly into the vastus lateralis muscle.In this review, we wanted to emphasize that anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction that should be diagnosed rapidly in pediatric patients.
