Among the new technological advances of the fourth industrial revolution are digital platforms, which allow people to offer products and services in a new way, directly impacting the labor market and leading to the creation of new ways of working that adjust to the new business needs, and in some cases of the workers themselves. The number of people who use these platforms to generate or supplement their subsistence income is increasing, in response to this, the need to regulate the work carried out through digital platforms is increasing in order to guarantee minimum conditions of work, regardless of their contractual relationship, that is, whether or not they are in a dependent relationship. This need has been answered by some established countries that guarantee minimum working conditions, frequently through their regulation as dependent work together with the creation of specific regulations for this type of services or the extension of social protection regulations that allow the coverage of minimum standards. It is then necessary to verify the current status of this problem in Colombia and its possible regulatory solution.
