Lineamientos de planificación para la integración transfronteriza de áreas protegidas a partir de la priorización de sus valores naturales. Caso de estudio: región natural colombo-venezolana Macizo del Tama
This research reviews the current situation in Colombia regarding planning processes for the conservation of cross-border protected areas, taking as a case study the "Colombian-Venezuelan Macizo del Tama natural region". This area is made up by the Tama National Natural Park in Colombia and the Tamá National Park in Venezuela: two protected areas that are separated by the national border and are especially important due to their strategic location, as they make up the ecosystem connection of the Andes Mountains between the two countries. Here, cross-border ecological systems are analyzed, as a starting point for the definition of planning guidelines that allow the cross-border integration of the two protected areas to be achieved based on the prioritization of their natural values.
