Worldwide, it has been evidenced that sedentary time in children and adolescents has increased significantly showing major consequences for health.Having this in mind, it is necessary for children and young people to carry out a greater amount of physical activity in daily life.The school is an important promoter to achieve the stated purpose.However, it has been shown in several investigations that students are not active enough in school, therefore the Physical Education class plays a very important role in decreasing that percentage of a sedentary lifestyle and increasing the levels of physical activity of the students.According to this information, this research has, as its main objective, to identify which teaching practices are associated with the amount of physical activity that students perform during physical education class.As theoretical categories, physical activity, physical education and teaching practices in the classroom stand out.Classroom observations and the use of physical activity monitors are used and the analysis of which highlights the association of the teacher's physical activity with the student's physical activity.
