Introduction: Child cancer is one of the main causes of death in this population. During the year 2020, in Colombia, there were 7,022 children under 18 years of age hildren under 18 years diagnosed of age with some type of cancer. Main treatments for neoplastic diseases include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. These treatments are commonly associated with the development of toxicities such as mucositis. Objective: To describe the use of low-power laser as a treatment for mucositis in children receiving oncological treatment, according to the available literature between 2015 and 2022. Method: The present study was developed using the methodology of integrative review of the literature. Conclusions: Low-power laser therapy is used together with other therapies to prevent oral mucositis, it decreases the severity of symptom, the risk of infection, and the duration of lesions, it also decreases the associated pain (Decreases score the VAS) immediately after laser session. Finally, when using low-power laser therapy, the lesions begin to disappear from day 7 of treatment.
