Vida, indiferencia, maltrato y exclusión de los animales en una eco-cultura antropocéntrica. Experiencias en la Comuna El Jardín 2 - Zona de protección ambiental y otros sectores de la ciudad de Pereira – Risaralda
This research aims to problematize the indifference, mistreatment and exclusion to which animals living on the streets are subjected, in environmental protection zones, biological corridors and sites close to residential sectors where human beings live. The basic purpose is to expose the anthropocentric behaviors of some communities, in particular, in the Jardín 2 neighborhood of the city of Pereira, where the local government, the institutional framework and the people do not take responsibility, nor are they responsible, for wild animals, that occupy ecological niches close to urbanized areas. In addition, it seeks to reveal the factors of tension and conflict generated by the care and defense of animal life in these residential sectors, based on the experience of a caretaker and defender of animal life. Another purpose is the development of a web page, which serves as a pedagogical instrument to explain the problem and question the improper human behaviors that occur in the treatment and relationship with a colony of wild cats that inhabit the place. The theoretical approach is made from the work of biologists, naturalists, philosophers and anthropologists who express their position regarding how animal life should be perceived and understood and what its importance is within the human world, proposing a different perspective that seeks that the human/animal connections are produced without hierarchical attitudes, where the superiority of the human over the animal is unfairly homologated. For this purpose, horizontal interactions with animals are promoted, eliminating the dominant subject-object position, to enter a scenario of human subject - animal subject relationships where there is greater respect and equity. The methodological steps include the preparation of a personal diary, a log that allows knowing the behavior of the cats in their feral phase and after colony, a summary document that expresses the care and protection actions carried out during the investigation, to continue with a cycle of interviews and the execution of the web page, as a pedagogical application, which seeks to convey the cruelty of speciesism and the seriousness of anthropocentric expressions directed against animals. The findings within the investigation report the different anthropocentric actions that occur in the biotope of the animals and in their ecological niche. Also, the factors of tension and conflict that occur with the community, the institutional framework, urban development, the law, veterinary medicine and animal husbandry are exposed. The conclusions confirm the author's experience as a caretaker and antispeciesist for twelve years and the way in which he became an alley cat allies (friend of the alley cats), while carrying out micropolitical actions that sought to promote the defense and protection of the species. animal life. Similarly, it raises the political opportunity generated by the investigation, to the extent that the material on the website reaches larger audiences and the urgency to continue working and resisting so that people begin to speak out loudly in favor of the dignity of life of the animals.
