In order to answer the question: What contributions has cosmopolitan thought made to the concept of hospitality, it was necessary to address the approaches of various authors who have reflected on the characteristic elements of the cosmopolitan tradition. Thus, we sought to explore the reflections, approaches and positions in relation to hospitality, migration and otherness. When delving into the points of encounter with cosmopolitan thought, Kant's approach to the right of hospitality in The Perpetual Peace is often considered pertinent, which, by occupying the foreground in the history of philosophy, seems to have silenced the ideas and contributions of other authors. The aim of the historical reconstruction was to establish the contributions that cosmopolitan thought makes to the hospitality perspective, as a condition of possibility for modeling the concept of cosmopolitan hospitality. With this purpose in mind, a methodological criterion was established to carry out a historical-critical review to demonstrate the convergences and discrepancies in the history of the concepts in question. This was based on the hypothesis that it was possible to base a hospitable-cosmopolitan perspective, as stated by Carlos Thiebaut (2010): "We cannot reach other lands as if we were owners, nor can we think of ourselves as owners of the territory we inhabit, we must be willing for others to come to our lands and we must share the whole earth with the entire human species". (p. 550).
