This essay presents six Brazilian modernist magazinesfrom the 1920s: Klaxon, Estética, A Revista, Terra Roxa e Outras Terras, Verde and Revista de Antropofagia. It initially presents an overview of the formation of groups and their ideas, the magazines production, circulation and reception, their polemics and their disarticulation. Then, it analyzes more closely the graphic design and illustrations of three of them: Klaxon, Verde and Revista de Antropofagia, focusing on the idea of fragment, the dialogues among the artists and the relationships among the images that constitute the magazines.
